Mrs Tires Finally Retiring?
By Brownia Tan
There is currently word of Mrs Evangeline Tires (or Jerry's mother) retiring. These superficial rumours resurface every month, but it was the first time that Mrs Tires has actually addressed them. She has confirmed that she is going to be stepping down from her role as Head Teacher. In lieu of her upcoming retirement, I am going to be making this article about her rise to Head Teacher in her honour.
Mrs Tires has served this school for thirty years already. She has served as an English and Maths teacher for over thirty-five years, a discipline mistress for ten and head teacher for five. Her methods of teaching are, in her words, the 'olden days' method. Her teaching was simple, with only three rules:
One, be attentive at all times. If you are not paying attention in her class, she will take away your chair, make you stay behind after class, or go up to the front and teach. Many students comment on this, stating that it is a 'humiliation ritual' and that Mrs Tires has 'made everyone cry'.
Secondly, Mrs Tires is very nitpicky about homework. Her past student, Nicolas Lang, states: "Mrs Tires has a no-nonsense rule when it comes to handing in homework. If you do not hand in your homework on time, she will give you a warning. If you don't hand in the second time, she will call your parents. And if you don't hand it in on time the third time and more, I think you get detention. I wouldn't know, because I've never gone that far before, because I forgot my homework once and she scared me into submission."
Thirdly, Mrs Tires NEVER allows students to choose their own groups. According to an ex-student of hers, Fluffy Liu, she "always groups you up with people you one-hundred per cent cannot gel with". He says, "My friends and I literally tried to rig the system. We pretended not to know each other when Mrs Tires was around, in hopes that she would group us up together. Obviously, we failed. She's always watching us!"
Mrs Tires' teaching methods are tough and leave many students scared of her. However, it definitely helps them academically as she pushes them beyond their limits and because 90% of her students graduate with distinctions!
Mrs Tires rarely speaks of her private life. Although it is known that she is a divorcee and that her child, Jerry, is enrolled in Sammy School, nobody really knows Mrs Tires truly. Therefore, I feel most fortunate for being able to interview Mrs Tires about her personal life.
She brings up that her ex-husband, Jack Cass (his name speaks for himself), and how he is currently in prison for abusing her. She says, "I remember we met in university. He wanted to be a sportsperson but tore his ACL, so he turned to become a physical education teacher. I remember hearing how passionate he was about teaching children sports, and how he wanted them to be the best they could be. After university, we got married with a few of our friends and family there. I can remember Jack wanting a child so badly. However, I was infertile. It was difficult because his family were all judging me. How dare their precious Jack -- their only child -- marry me, some poor girl, who couldn't even give him a child. They would always say that I was depriving them of a child -- and at that time I was--I was what? Twenty-three? I believed it and I think it was the start of my depression. My parents had their other four children to take care of, and had no time for me and my worries. And Jack... he was the worse. He never defended me in front of his awful parents and relatives, and behind the scenes, he would be so mean to me. Our honeymoon phase of the relationship was over. At first, it would be sporadic and verbal. He'd call me things like 'b*tch', 'wh*re', 'sl*t', etc, and I would cry about it, but words were easy to get over. Overtime, it got worse, and he would hit me. He'd bash my head against walls, throw things at me, and do the worst things you could do to a person. It was so... demoralising. I was so scared. I had no one to tell. We shared all our friends, and my family though Jack as a blessing. As my only redemption, because I was a mistake my parents made when they were teens which caused them to forgo going to university.
"I loved Jack, but when he became more and more violent, I stopped. I was so scared and could not tell anyone. Jack was friends with everyone, including people high up in the police force. Including teachers at the school of sports, where we worked. He was an extrovert, and I was his little introverted wife who did not deserve him. One day, he got extremely violent. The pregnancy test was negative, and he raged. He slammed me against the wall, again and again. He broke the wall, and my spine. I remember after my surgery I begged the nurse to let me go, to let me be free, but nothing ever works in my favour. He dragged me back home and begged me to never tell a soul, claiming that he loved me, and whatever nonsense he would spew. I began to devise a plan on how to leave him."
"I began to document -- by taking pictures of the scars he gave me, recording videos of when he would degrade me to nothing more than an animal. He hated me. I presented the clips to an ex-student of mine who was in law school. The student connected me to his teachers, two esteemed lawyers. However, I had not much money to pay for the fees, as Jack and my bank account were merged. Thankfully, the two lawyers allowed me to pay in the future--after I divorced Jack. I remember that day when court finished and Jack was being dragged off to prison. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. But everyone in our community hated me. To them, I firstly "stole" Jack away by marrying him, and then "ruined" him by shipping him off to prison. They did not believe a word of Jack's abusiveness. So, I left."
"I moved to the west and began teaching in Sammy School. I adopted my son, Jerry, at an orphanage here. I know that I am not a big hit with many students, but my life now is definitely better than whatever it was back there. I am grateful that I got to call Sammy School my home for the past thirty years, but it is time for me to retire."
Mrs Tires has definitely been through a lot. We would definitely miss her when she retires in June. Goodbye, Mrs Tires!

Shopping Addictions
By Ciao Hills
Shopping Addictions. The problems many of us face. But how do we solve them?
Have you ever bought something and immediately regret it? Well, I have. In this article, I will be sharing problems of shopping too much and how to solve them through interviews with students!
Student 1: Frosty Chills
Ciao (C): Hello Frosty.
Frosty (F): Hi Ciao!
C: Would you say that you have a shopping addiction?
F: I wouldn't say that it is an addiction, but I definitely have regretted some of the stuff I have bought.
C: How do you intend on fixing your bad habits?
F: Maybe by thinking about it? Like, do I really need or want this? Ask those questions before buying them.
C: That's great!
Student 2: Diana Lang
Ciao (C): Hello Diana.
Diana (D): Hi.
C: Would you say that you have a shopping addiction?
D: Yeah, I would say so. Most of the time, if I buy something useless, I will regret it. But if I don't buy it, I will keep thinking about it. So, there's no winning there.
C: How do you intend on fixing your bad habits?
D: Out of sight, out of mind. I wouldn't window shop and tempt myself as much.
C: That's great, thanks!
We should follow Diana and Frosty's solutions in order to save our money. The holidays are coming up, so don't fall victim to sales! Thanks!

Design Dress corruption affecting Sammy School Students?
By Brownia Tan & Heather Hills
As you all know, there used to be a Design Dress outlet in the Sammy School Cafeteria (now it is being renovated into becoming a study area). It was so popular to the point where Design Dress had to limit the number of students and staff entering the venue to only 25 at a time, and everyone was given a 25 minute time limit to shop there.
It was beloved by everyone. However, recently some information has come to light about Design Dress being a front for a money laundering scheme, led by Mr Masaree Dee Dee. Sammy School being the only school in SammyLand to have a Design Dress outlet (which it has received much criticism on), is facing a lot of issues currently.
The once-celebrated fashion retailer Design Dress has come under heavy scrutiny following explosive revelations that it served as a front for an alleged money laundering operation masterminded by businessman Mr. Masaree Dee Dee. The scandal has sent shockwaves through the community, with Sammy School—uniquely tied to the brand—now caught in the crossfire.
Design Dress, which had an exclusive outlet on the grounds of Sammy School, is now facing severe backlash after federal investigations linked it to illicit financial operations. The store’s ties to Mr. Dee Dee, who allegedly used the fashion brand to funnel dirty money into legitimate accounts, have drawn widespread outrage.
Sammy School remains the only educational institution in the entire nationof SammyLand to have hosted a Design Dress outlet, a decision that has returned to haunt school leadership. Former principal Siobhan, who approved the installation of the outlet during her tenure, is now facing public backlash and demands for accountability.
“It was supposed to be a forward-thinking partnership,” said a former staff member, 'Teacher Linda'. “No one knew what was really going on behind the seams.”
Complicating matters further is the presence of Darling Dee Dee, daughter of the accused Mr. Masaree Dee Dee, who is currently enrolled at Sammy School. Her position has triggered intense debate among parents and students, with some calling for her transfer to avoid further disruption, while others argue she should not be punished for her father's alleged crimes.
The fallout has been swift. Many students previously featured in Design Dress promotional events are now facing online harassment. Several parents have withdrawn their children from school-sponsored fashion activities, and a growing number are considering transferring their children out of Sammy School altogether.
“It’s been hard on the students,” said a parent. “They're caught in the middle of something they had no control over.”
The school's current administration has launched an internal review and issued a public apology for the lack of due diligence in vetting Design Dress. Authorities have temporarily shut down the outlet pending further investigation.
Educational experts warn that the incident may have long-term effects on the school's reputation and trust in school-business partnerships across the country.
As federal authorities continue to probe deeper into Mr. Dee Dee’s financial web, more details are expected to surface. In the meantime, the community of SammyLand watches with bated breath, wondering how deep this scandal truly runs—and how many more institutions may be entangled.
It was revealed that Mr Dee Dee payed a handsome amount of money to rent the space there -- three times more than the normal sum. That makes us wonder - how can an educational institute, that should prioritise the needs of its own students, take money over taking care of its students?

Hey babes, i'm back at Sammy School!! I'm going to be quite busy in the holidays, so i might not be able to get much info. anyways.
teacher tony and teacher heidi got a divorce :(( so sad. they were my fav couple. i was literally at their wedding because i kind of helped get them together. rumour has it, that one of them cheated with teacher linda! but, who knows who cheated..
teacher sio (ex principal) was arrested??? well, brought in for questioning, because she was the one that approved of the Design Dress outlet being opened in Sammy School. what a shame. i just came back and they closed. i mean, i know that they were money laundering, but the space could be used to open another dress shop instead of a study area?? idk. don't take my words too seriously.
apparently mrs tires is retiring for real! i just read her backstory:(( i feel so bad. she's one strong woman!
there's a new kid called Lotso - and he seems to making the rounds with every girl. every class. every status - in a relationship or not. and it seems that brownia and someone else?? have been seen with Lotso in precarious positions.. (check out the sammyschnews insta for a long awaited update!) watch out, brown bear!
